Case Study
Investigation and Trenchless Rehabilitation of Subsurface Drain Failure Resulting in Wastewater Exfiltration Through Exterior Masonry in a Residential Structure

The residential property was experiencing wastewater discharge from both the kitchen and laundry systems, with effluent visibly surfacing through the brickwork at the rear exterior of the home.
Began with a detailed CCTV inspection to identify defects allowing wastewater to escape the system. Following assessment, the line was thoroughly cleaned using mechanical tools to remove debris, grease, and any obstructions ensuring proper liner installation. A NuFlow cured-in-place pipelining system was then installed to restore the structural integrity of the existing pipeline. This involves inserting a resin-saturated liner into the host pipe, which is then expanded and cured in place forming a new pipe within the original.
A comprehensive trenchless pipe rehabilitation solution was recommended to address the compromised drainage system responsible for wastewater exfiltration through the rear brickwork.
The trenchless approach eliminated the need for invasive excavation, preserving the home’s foundation and exterior brickwork while significantly reducing the project time and disruption. Upon completion, a final CCTV inspection was conducted to verify the integrity and performance of the rehabilitated line, ensuring long-term reliability and proper system function.
