Catfish Hole

Trenchless Drain Rehabilitation at Catfish Hole: Addressing Severe Grease Accumulation and Pipe Deterioration in Fayetteville, Arkansas

The Problem

The system exhibited substantial grease accumulation, significantly resttricting flow from kitchen fixtures and floor drains. This condition impaired proper drainage and created hazardous working conditions within the facility.

The Process

Coordinated closely with the kitchen supervisor to align project execution with their operational schedule, completing all work during overnight hours to prevent service disruptions. Then began with a comprehensive CCTV inspection to assess the extent of grease accumulation, structural deterioration, and any potential offsets or defects within the line. This was followed by a thorough mechanical cleaning, including high-pressure water jetting and chain descaling, to remove heavy grease deposits and restore the pipe to a suitable condition for liner installation. Once properly prepared, a NuFlow liner saturated with a high-temperature, corrosion-resistant epoxy resin was installed. This specialized resin is designed to withstand elevated temperatures and harsh kitchen effluent, making it ideal for envionments with continuous grease discharge.

The Solution

A trenchless rehabilitation approach utilizing a high-temperature epoxy lining system was recommended to restore the integrity and functionality of the affected piping infrastructure.

Outcomes

The results were a fully rehabilitated system with improved flow capacity, enhanced resistance to grease buildup, and extended service life, all achieved with minimal disruption to facility operations.
